Rato Bangala School, established in 1992 in Patan Dhoka, Lalitpur, is a leading institution in Nepal known for its progressive, child-centered education. Founded by Shanta and Milan Dixit, the school was inspired by the Bank Street College of Education's developmental-interaction approach and has since become a model for educational reform in Nepal.
The school offers a comprehensive curriculum from Early Childhood Center (ages 3–5) through to Grade XII, including Cambridge GCE A-Level programs. It emphasizes experiential learning, critical thinking, and social-emotional development, aiming to cultivate lifelong learners who are compassionate and globally aware.
Rato Bangala's facilities support its innovative pedagogy, featuring spacious classrooms, a well-stocked library, specialized art and science labs, a STEAM lab, and performance spaces like the Kamalmani Theater.
