Central Secondary School for the Deaf (Kendriya Bahira Madhyamik Vidyalaya) is Nepal’s first and only government-run institution dedicated to the education of deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Located in Naxal, Kathmandu, the school was established in 1967 A.D. (2023 B.S.) and has been a cornerstone in providing inclusive education for over five decades. The school also offers free education up to Grade 12, with minimal fees for hostel accommodations and transportation. Teacher and staff salaries are funded by the Special Education Council, and the institution receives support from both governmental and non-governmental organizations for infrastructure and resources.
