Far Western University (FWU), established in 2010 by an Act of the Parliament of Nepal, is a government-funded national university located in Bhimdatta Municipality (formerly Mahendranagar), Kanchanpur district, in the Far West Province of Nepal.The university aims to provide accessible and quality higher education, particularly to the underserved communities of the Far Western region.
