Nepal Mountain Academy (NMA), established in 2002, is a government institution under Nepal's Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation. Located in Thapagaun, Bijulibazar, Kathmandu, NMA is affiliated with Tribhuvan University's Faculty of Management. It offers specialized academic programs in mountaineering, mountain sciences, and adventure tourism.
NMA employs a dual-phase educational model: theoretical instruction is provided in Kathmandu, while practical training occurs in the high Himalayas, particularly at the International Mountain Training and Research Center (IMTRC) in Garma, Solukhumbu.
